How Does It Work?
Hard water is softened when hard water passes through the softening system’s resin bed, the calcium and magnesium ions are removed through an ion exchange process, so only softened water passes through to your home.
Salt is used in the regeneration process and restores the resin to a “clean” state so the ion exchange process can begin again.
Maintenance & Benefits
A water softener needs special salt in order for the process to work correctly. This salt can be purchased in 40 lb. bags at any local hardware or grocery store.
